Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg but brought up in Wellington the city where she was born, she made her first acting appearance in The Piano. In this romance film, at the age of the age of 11, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster for Best Supporting Actress for portraying the bright and curious girl who played Holly Hunter's lead character in The Piano. When she responded to a request for auditions, she was able to audition when she was nine, and with little previous experience in acting, she won Flora McGrath's part. Flora was the daughter of an Scottish musician who was blind. The couple moved from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to get married. As a teenager, she made the move to America. Paquin had the role of lead in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 as well as a brief appearance as Jane Eyre as still a toddler. Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the television film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played Queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 feature film Amistad. The actress played teenagers as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
