Seasons 1-8 is when shippers submit bids for two shipments through UShip using a reverse auction model. Bids are generally made with specific remarks on the potential costs and risks, as well as the motivations and capabilities. The job is typically awarded to the lowest bidder after the auction has ended. At the discretion of the customer the auction may be offered to a bidder with a higher price who has a better feedback rating from previous clients. Feedback ratings are used to break ties for the lowest bid. In the season 9 finale, the shippers get their cargo from the shipping broker, but the bidding process isn't shown.Winners load their cargo and attempt to deliver it in good condition within the receiver's or client's deadline. When the cargo is delivered, clients leave feedback ratings. The episode ends with the revenue of each shipper and expenses. are subtracted from the bid for the purpose of determining the overall gain or loss. At times, a shipper may arrange to transport one or more additional loads at the same time, including the additional cost into their total. The shipper may not be able finish the task because of safety concerns or the size of the load. Sometimes, one shipper will employ the assistance of another shipper to complete the job. The shippers decide what they'll do with the proceeds. Seasons 1-8 are filled with hilarious criticisms from other shippers.
